Hello, My name is Johnny Segreto. I was born and raised in Central California and have lived here a majority of my life. I have been a body piercing enthusiast for the last 20 years and a practicing body piercer for the last 5 years. I had never planned on being a body piercer, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and was offered an apprenticeship and jumped at the opportunity. I studied and got the most out of my apprenticeship that I could. I preformed my first ever piercing on my life long friend, as I pierced his lobes I knew I was in love with my new profession.
Eight months after I finished a lengthy apprenticeship I went to work for Tiger Rose Tattoo in Pismo Beach, California, while opening a small private studio in Atascadero, California. During this time I was able to have a second “working” apprenticeship under Shawn McGrath, a master piercer. It was also during this time that I learned a more freehand style of piercing. After 2 years the studio was closed and I split my time between Tiger Rose and For Inks Sake Tattoo while also doing monthly guest spots at Timeless Tattoo in Fresno California. Two years later I decided to work full time in Atascadero and made the move to Never Enough Tattoo where I worked for a little over a year before coming to Cherry Blossom Tattoo. I have continued my education yearly by attending the annual APP (Association of Professional Piercers) conference. I have attended such classes as Head and Neck Anatomy, Medical Risk Assessment, Surface Anchors, Ins and Outs of Female Genital Piercings, Male Genital Piercing Techniques, Studio Set Up and Sterilization, History of Contemporary Piercing, Energy Grounding and Movement, Stretching, Wound Healing Dynamics, Basic Steel and Titanium, Oro-Facial Anatomy, Anodizing is Awesome, Working Clean Within Your Studio, Troubleshooting Piercing Problems, Nostril Piercing: Advanced Fundamentals, Healing or Harm? Our Responsibility as Body Piercers, Body Anatomy, "Fireside" Chat with Jim Ward, Male Genital Piercings: A Dual Perspective, How to Use a Statim, Medical Considerations for Body Piercing, Modern Surface Piercing Technique Workshop, The Jewelry Monster and Tribal Rights to Industry: Our Journey by Fakir. I look forward to this yearly event. I have also taken CPR classes and further anatomy classes.
Body Piercing for me has become a passion. I am continually looking for more information and networking with other piercers. In this constantly changing world the art of body piercing is no different. New techniques and ideas are always upon us.
I proudly pierce with and offer high quality body jewelry from such companies as: NeoMetal, Anatometal, Industrial Strength, and Infinite body jewelry.
